The University Office for Diversity and Inclusion and the Carolina Black Caucus invite members of the Carolina community to gather together for a moment of reflection on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. in The Pit. This an opportunity for us to collectively reflect on the responsibility we have for each other and reaffirm both our connections and our convictions as a community, particularly our commitment to racial justice. We hope that being in community strengthens us as we process acts of violence that have plagued our nation for far too long. We must move forward with intention and urgency to create a stronger community that rejects racism, hate, and violence and sustains a culture of belonging.
We hope that this moment of reflection will provide a meaningful recognition of the struggles we’ve faced together and how our support for one another can help us through challenging times.
